Description
120 acres of gorgeous parkland on a lakeside estate property lovingly restored from ruins over 30+ years. The main manor house - which rents as a full service luxury mansion when the owners are not in residence - stands tall with views out to the lake. Attached in a courtyard are three cut stone self-catering cottages made from the former stables and servant quarters of the ancestral property. The entire property accommodates 44 people.
Amenities include indoor heated swimming pool, lake activities (rowing, canoeing), billiards/snooker room and tennis court, as well as gorgeous sculpted labyrinth and walled gardens. The property is situated next to a public forest. A village pub is 10-15 minutes walk away and Galway is 9 miles. The small village of Moycullen is close, with excellent restaurant choices and nice shops to visit. Cultural and heritage sites sprinkle the area, the wild landscapes of the Connemara parts of Galway are close. The estate is less then an hours drive from The Aran Islands, Cliffs of Mohr, Ashford Castle, Kylemore Abbey salmon/trout fishing, golf courses and horseback riding.

The Park Hall used to be a series of smaller apartments connected to a larger common space. Interconnected, the main kitchen / dinning area can accommodate 26-35 people at two dining tables. The great hall has exposed stone walls, cathedral ceilings and is ideal for large groups. Additionally, there are two suites from the previous apartments each containing two bedrooms, kitchen and a living room. In this way the property is ideal for large groups who may wish to gather together or find themselves congregating in smaller batches over their stay - plenty of places to sit, snack, chat, chill or plan the days activity plans.
There is a laundry room; bathrooms have heated towel rails; irons and hairdryers. WiFi is available, though we strongly suggest you prepare US travelers that "high speed" has a much different definition in Ireland than at home (email and general surfing? Sure. Video streaming? Not likely).

RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES
Plan a day trip or two to explore the Connemara region, drive the Sky Road, the coast route to Westport, drive the bogs. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Too many lovely villages to mention.
Head down the coast route past Galway down to the Cliffs of Mohr. Eat lunch in Lahinch. Visit Kinvara castle ruins.
Have a night out for music in Galway.
Take a boat or fast flight to the Aran islands.
Horseback riding?
Hire a cook to prepare a group dinner in one evening. Investigate all the ways one can prepare potatoes (it's amazing, really), lamb and monkfish.
Eat in Moycullen at The White... shoot. Wolf? Heron? Gable? I have to find the card. It was an incredible meal. Birthday celebration for two? It's pricey but fantastic.
I could go on and on. But I'll stop. Some of the recent guest reviews and everyone has been exceedingly happy with their choice to stay. Multiple people comment that the photos don't do the place justice, which was certainly true in 2005 and 2013, and it has only improved since then.
